The cultural centre Sabac started working more than four decades ago, on 23rd May 1963. It was originally named The Youth Centre, then the Community Centre ‘Vera Blagojevic’ and since 2002 with a new name Cultural Centre. It is situated in a beautiful old building in 12 Gospodar Jevremova Street, in the very centre of town. Its surface is 660 m² and consists of small and big hall, a bookstore, offices, the Club, an attic and summer garden.
The centre is a polyvalent and multimedia institution that bases its activities upon a few basic work segments: art contents, literary, musical, drama creativity, performances, and for the last few years, through different projects and work with young children through workshops of various contents.
The centre originally carries out its activities through the annual agenda. Through different ideas and numerous kinds of cultural contents we are trying to satisfy tastes and needs of all age structures, consumers of our programmes.
Summer programmes are performed in the garden. That’s the space where we plan a great number of programmes involving many young people through workshops, concerts, stands and other kinds of education and animation.
The cultural centre has constant cooperation with a great number of other cultural institutions both from the town and whole country and it has welcomed thousands of eminent young and unrecognized artists with its programmes.
