It is the oldest sport collective in our town, founded in 1905.
The famous Serbian writer, Dr Laza K. Lazarevic, was one of the first members. The best result in its one-century long history the club achieved in 2006 placing the First Federal League.
Today, the chess club of Sabac is a stable first league player and it successfully competes in the most eminent domestic competition. Professor Miroljub Merdovic is the head of the club having the function of a president and is greatly responsible for good organization and results of the club.
