The building of ‘Gradska trznica’ (the town market hall) is the oldest marketplace intended to be ‘green’ market and the only object of closed type. It is of strategic significance for the town due to the building’s location that was built in 1939. It is protected as the town asset by the Institute for protection of cultural monuments.
During 2006, the Municipal Assembly of Sabac provided 15,000,000 dinars from its budgetary funds for the building’s reconstruction that was finished in June. The building has 116 stalls, 20 selling places in cooling glass showcases laid out in two shops, and 11 separate shops.
