The gallery of the cultural centre originally worked as a part of Home of Youth that was founded in May 1963. It officially started working in September 1977 when Slobodan Jeremic Jeremija had his first independent exhibition. The building where the gallery is placed dates from the beginning of 20th century and represents a protected cultural monument. From the very beginning, it had the same purpose- to be and remain a peculiar meeting place of artists and art devotees.
The gallery has two work segments- exhibiting and selling.
Today, the gallery of the cultural centre represents an important place in our town in which exhibiting place exhibitions alternate – both independent and thematic: icons, drawings, small formats, aquarelle, portrait and act. Programme conception and strict criteria contributed the gallery of the cultural centre to acquire reputation because many famous artists exhibited here, such as Milić from Macva, Milenko Serban, Slobodanka Rakic Sefer, Aleksandar Lukovic Lukijan, Radoslav Trkulja, Dragan Martinovic, Zeljka Momirov, Dimitrije Kolarevic, Leposava Milosevic Sibinovic, Milica Rakic, Danica Masnikovic...
Application for independent exhibitions is open during November, when the gallery Council makes annual agenda of the gallery.
The selling gallery was founded to exhibit and, by selling, to popularize works of visual and applied artists, both local and those from all over Serbia. |
