With the aim of promoting art and culture, international Festival of classical music – Savacium Classic Fest has taken place in Sabac since 2004.
Performances of musicians from our country and abroad characterize this prestigious manifestation, and Sabac is one of rare towns in Serbia that promotes classical and ethno music in this way. Many musicians introduced themselves to Sabac audience and among them were ‘Teofilovic brothers’, music group ‘Gora’, string quartet ‘Arko’, an American jazz guitarist Steve Hancogf, a Canadian guitarist Jack Silver, a French guitarist Laurent Boutros, a Spanish violinist from the family of composer Rodrigo – Augustin Leon Ar, a Spanish guitarist Josep Manzano, an opera star Jadranka Jovanovic and many other names from the world of classical and ethno music.
The Festival organizers have tried to approach this musical event to the taste of audience from year to year. Judging by its visit and interest, they surely succeeded. Apart from thematic evenings dedicated to musical greats like jubilee, 250th anniversary of Mocart’s birthday, the evening of introducing the students of musical school ‘Mihailo Vukdragovic’ is also established.
Traditionally, the patrons of this manifestation are the Municipality of Sabac, TOS, Cultural Centre and regional television of Sabac. All local and national media reported on the Festival.
Savacium Classic Fest made Sabac become one of the towns that recognize real musical values and have the audience that is looking forward to every new festival and impatiently expects September when this manifestation takes place.
